Yeah they are really no big deal, most people don't notice and if they do they don't say anything. If any of you dont have one get a Waterpik!!! It's so nice not have to brush after every meal, just use this and youre good to go.

Yeah, I was premature in saying they were painless, I woke up this morning and they were aching pretty bad. It seems like the ibuprofen helps a lot though!

My ortho said they like to do the tops first and get things moving before they mess with the bottoms. Maybe this is because the top is like a reference point for where they want the bottoms to go. But I'm sure it just depends on the ortho's preferences and experiences.

Can't say from experience, but I would think that braces could only make your face look better. I've seen before and after pics where peoples profiles are drastically better, especially when correcting an overbite.
