Yeah they are really no big deal, most people don't notice and if they do they don't say anything. If any of you dont have one get a Waterpik!!! It's so nice not have to brush after every meal, just use this and youre good to go.

I was going to spend $60 on a nice big irrigator, but ended up just getting the cordless waterpik for like $25. This thing is plenty powerful and its nice and small, I've only had it for a day, but I would recomend it.

Braced today with 3M Carity's!!!

Well I just got my uppers braced today and I'm still in disbelief. It's gonna take some time to get used to these things! My teeth are pretty sore already, but the braces aren't as bulky as I'd imagined. I also went by and picked up my cordless waterpik, so I can't wait to use that either. The best ...

Yeah, I was premature in saying they were painless, I woke up this morning and they were aching pretty bad. It seems like the ibuprofen helps a lot though!

Well I got mine in too today, but I only got 4 total, 2 on each side on top, all rubber. I don't know if it hasn't been long enough, but mine really don't hurt at all!!! I used to always stick my nail in between my teeth to space them out, and thats what this feels like. We'll see if I'm still this ...

turrrtlelove22: I get my spacers in tomorrow too!!! I am pretty excited to get things going. I only have them for a week, then I get my tops put on. We'll have to compare this week how they feel, hopefully not too bad!

My ortho said they like to do the tops first and get things moving before they mess with the bottoms. Maybe this is because the top is like a reference point for where they want the bottoms to go. But I'm sure it just depends on the ortho's preferences and experiences.

Congrats on making that other appt. My story is the same as yours, my parents don't think I need them and said they wouldn't pay, so I'm paying myself. Funny thing is I'm getting them put on Dec. 12th and I'm just going to go home for Xmas break and see how long it takes them to notice them (ceramic...

What is your daily cleaning ritual?

So I searched and didn't find a whole lot, but what is your daily cleaning ritual like?? How many times do you brush, floss, use waterpik, rinse?? In what order, how long, just try to guess an average day. Thanks a lot, and if you know a thread where this is already addressed let me know.

I'm disapointed, I want to get these brackets, but I called every ortho in town and none of them use them. It was funny too, because when I asked specifically they were all surprised.

Can't say from experience, but I would think that braces could only make your face look better. I've seen before and after pics where peoples profiles are drastically better, especially when correcting an overbite. You'll probably have a broader smile, increased symmetry, and not to mention the fact...

How hard to learn a new language with braces?

So I'm going to be learning French in the coming year, as I need a language to graduate college, and I was wondering how hard it will be with braces. Do they interfere a lot with pronunciation???
