I think the pointy things near the back could be your wires. Every adjustment my ortho would make me feel around and adjust things so there was nothing poking me back there. Ask your ortho- he should be able to fix it rather easily.

Just keep working with the wax. You will figure it out. In the beginning, it seems like you will never be able to talk or be comfortable. Before you know it, you will feel normal again.

I am writing this only for people who may read these posts and be scared off from invisilign. I had lingual braces for a while and am now finishing with invisilign. Yes, it hurt to take them out at first. The I-Braces hurt at the beginning and for a period after every adjustment. I'm sure regular br...

I have finally finished my I-Brace experience. I was left with a few issues that had to be addressed however.. so I am now using invisilign. I liked the I-Braces better, but like the I-Braces I am sure I will get used to the invisilign in time. They feel much better than the I-Braces but the "i...

I'd set a meeting with your ortho and tell him/her all your concerns. You are spending a lot of money and this is your body you are talking about. Have him explain everything to you, it will ease your mind.

Everyone gets gaps. Like Blahblah's ortho, mine put a chain or "tubing" on the brackets surrounding the gap and it closes almost immediately. Unless you are creating gaps for a reason your ortho should have no problem closing them.

Probably no big deal but I'd see your doctor. After five months of linguals my experience is the ortho can usually do away with most minor issues fairly easily. You don't pay by the visit anyway..

I agree with Lionfish. You definitely notice things more about yourself than others. Your speech will be off for a little while. Then it will get better. Wax helps. You'll be fine.

What does the headgear look like? How often do you wear it? Why do you have to wear it? Just curious.

I am a lawyer with linguals. I saw you mentioned insurance. You may want to look your policy but I can tell you that most policies do not cover the linguals. I submitted a claim and they paid 100 out of a 9000 bill. Good luck with everything. I wish I would have started the process in law school. Th...

I had both put on at the same time. The top bothers me more. It pokes my tongue more and causes the speech problems. The bottoms I barely notice.

I have had the procedure. I think its worth it. It was intially very painful and I took a week off work. I had a bad bite issue that I needed corrected. With this procdure, my bite issue was largely corrected in less than 2 months. So i disagree with the post that says that the procedure does not co...
