Made it to 1st Anniversary!

Sorry, I haven't been around much lately, but I had major shoulder surgery in August and was limited in the time I could use the computer. I finally came back to work last Monday (Dec 3rd). My 1st B-day Anniversary was on Dec 4 - I can't believe it's been a year since I was braced. Things are going ...

I have proof that babies notice braces. My youngest Graddaughter (Madison, now age 2-1/2) noticed them the very first time she saw me with my "new look". She kept pointing at my mouth and wanted to touch them. Now that she can talk, whenever she here's my name, or talks to me on the phone,...

I, too, am a singer and had real problems at first. It's almost 11 months and the problems are all but gone. The only time I have problems is when the music is fast and there are a lot of words to get out in a short amount of time!!! I have to watch out for final "s" and "th" as ...

I'm a singer as well and my first rehearsal post-braces was very interesting. That was in January and it didn't last too long. As a matter of fact, I find that my diction is much better because I have to make a conscious effort to make sure that I'm singing/speaking clearly. I only seem to have prob...

I had an MRI of my shoulder a week ago and it was fine. I was really worried, but there wasn't even any sensation.

But don't get me started on the size of the tunnel...

I had a mouthful of crowns before being braced, so it was interesting finding solid teeth for the anchors. That being said, however, things have gone well and no problems with the crowns to date. I will probably have another root canal while braced as I had a filling done last week and the tooth is ...

Sorry to hear about your tooth problem, Lynn. I actually am going through the same thing right now. I had a small crack in a molar and had it filled. Unfortunately, it's really deep and it looks like I'll have to have a root canal afterall. I've had 5 root canals and, I have to say, that they are mu...

Hi, Graceful,

My b-day was December 4/06 at the ripe old age of 50!!! Part of me wishes that I'd done this as a child, but I'm mostly glad that I waited to be braced as an adult - one more thing to have fun with!!!

I have a mouth full of crowns and even a bridge and, so far, no problems. I don't have any brackets on crowns/bridges because my problems are all in the front of my mouth and everything is moving nicely.

Fortunately, I had lots of room for movement so the crowns are staying in place.

First Adjustment over

Well, I survived - and quite well, too. I have one tooth in particular that's giving me some grief, but nothing like what I expected. There's a lot more pressure and I'm being very gentle with what I eat, but I thought I'd be in agony. I went with metallic blue ligs this time (still haven't mastered...

I wasn't at work yesterday, so hope you had a great birthday, Meryaten. You were the first to welcome me here and you have always had great words of wisdom and a wonderful sense of humour.

May all your dreams and hopes come true!!!! :-V

I'm in for a double whammy tomorrow - 1st adjustment at 9:30 a.m. and first cleaning while braced at 12:00 p.m. This should be good for a few days of soft food, knowing how sensitive my mouth is!!! :soremouth: I see my hygenist every 3 months and will continue to do so while braced. I've had mild gu...
