Preferred Provider fee: $4300 Clear brackets: $600 Dental insurance covers: $2500 I pay $450 on the first 2 visits to have the brackets on. And then I pay about $94 each month for 18 months. My ortho told me it's quite rare that dental insurance plans pay $2500. But then, I work for a company part o...

I'm hoping that within 4 days I'll be up and around again! I had 2 impacted, partial bony wisdom teeth taken out during the summer with general anesthesia. I looked up on the internet and knew exactly what went on when I was out. The first day of the surgery you'll feel really strange. The term &qu...

Thank you thank you. I must have misunderstood what they meant by ligature. Actually I got most of the "braces" terms from the archwired website and from browsing this forum. cool year? :D Hah! Thank you KK for the advice on hydration. It makes perfect sense. I'll make sure I drink lots of...

I definitely agree with the suggestion to see some nutritionist and your dentist to discuss which kind of food you should eat and what you should cut down on. I got my braces on last week, and the general advice I get from everyone I know is not to bite into an apple or a pear, or something hard lik...

I am 6 months pregnant which makes my teeth and gums extra sensitive and adding to that, I am not allowed to take any pain killers due to the fear of harming the unborn baby. Your gum and teeth getting much more sensitive might be one of the reasons why your teeth hurt so much from the adjustments....

To be frank, I have to say they are a constant nuisance. My teeth don't hurt like some other people, but I definitely feel the brackets against inner mouth. The brackets on the back molars are metal, and they cut into my inner mouth. The front ones are clear plastic, so although they don't poke as m...

Its normal I think. When I first had braces which was a year ago, I didnt feel anything. There was no need for pain killers but after a few months, my teeth started hurting after adjustments ( could be due to thicker wires). You might not feel anything right now but it would hurt later . Uh oh!!! S...

Is it normal for your teeth to not hurt?

I got my braces on last Monday. Currently the wire is on the bottom teeth, and in 3 weeks I'll go to get 1 tooth at the top removed, and then the wire will go on the top. My bottom teeth feel a little loose, but I have read that it's not abnormal. But my teeth don't hurt like others have said in thi...

Just got them last week

Hi, I got my braces last Monday November 20th. I got the clear plastic brackets. Currently only the bottom brackets have been fitted with archwire. I need to get one tooth out at the top, and then back to the Ortho office to fit the top wire. Not happening until 3 weeks from now. I was surprised and...
