Thanks, Cawphee! I don't know if elastics are in my future (but I do have hooks on my brackets, so maybe they are...) but I do know that surgery is in store for me up the road. After my front teeth are brought into their correct position, I'll be having jaw surgery to slide my lower jaw forward into...

Correcting a deep bite (with photos!)
Hello! I have braces to correct a class 2 deep bite. My deep bite was pretty severe (my front upper teeth COMPLETELY overlapped my lower front teeth), and as a result of this, my lower jaw is underdevloped and I have TMJ problems (like making little clicking noises when I chew, having my jaw disloca...

I brush after every time I eat, and again in the evening before bed. I like to snack, so this works out to brushing about 5 times a day. The first four times are regular brushings (maybe followed by using my interdental brush), and those last about 2 - 3 minutes. My evening routine is more thorough ...

My pictures all looked terrible until I learned to turn the flash off and use the macro mode so I could zoom in well. Your camera's manuel might have instructions for doing these things. If pictures are still coming out blurry, it could be that your camera isn't being held still enough while the pic...

Everyone's pain tolerance is different, and everyone's braces cause them different amounts of pain. I've seen posts by some members who were eating steak within two days of getting their braces on. For me, it took an entire week of soft foods before I could eat solid food again. I ate a lot of mushy...

How many days should I book off work?
I'm going to be getting my wisdom teeth yanked out. All four are completely impacted and they'll be putting me under for the procedure. I expect to be off work that day and possibly the day after. What are your thoughts?

Opening my bite? How?
Hi guys! Ok, I'll start with a picture - here is the way my teeth fit together right now: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v127/Katica/braces/1_feb6_2007.jpg As you can see, my front upper teeth completely overlap my lower teeth. Now, my ortho told me that he wants to open my bite, and that the nex...

My ortho gave me: - Dental wax - A travel toothbrush - A couple of disposable toothbrushes - A packet of floss threaders - A pamphlet about oral health - A list of stuff I'm apparently not allowed to eat (So, uh, if I can't eat candy and I can't eat nuts, candied nuts cancel each other out and are o...

Howdy! If you can't find the pre-pasted disposable toothbrushes, you can keep your eyes peeled for other products like the Listerine pocket pack breath strips. Another product you can look for are Oral B Brush-ups , which are disposable tooth wipes. It's not as great as toothpaste, obviously, but yo...
