I agree with above posters. Your pain sounds extreme and out of the norm!!!

I ignored this type of pain and my pendulum grew into the top of my mouth. lol

Some pain is OK, extreme pain is something to call your ortho/dentist about!!!

I really don't think that my TEETH are yellow... it's the stuff that the ortho put on my teeth that is staining yellow. Hello! I have a palatal bar, and I know what you mean! They do hurt at first, the best thing for it are the warm salt water rinses, as Lisa mentioned. Also, I found that drinking a ton of cold water keeps the tounge swelling down. Good luck!
