I'm not a HUGE fan of my Essix, mainly because i'm supposed to wear it 24/7 (or at least like..MOST of the day..i'm a chronic snacker and take it out constantly to munch on things!) I wish my ortho gave me Crest Whitestrips! I have the Target brand that's the copy of Crest Premium and they've been w...

Isn't having them off GLORIOUS? I enjoy it everytime I eat.

I explained biting into an apple for the first time in almost 3 years comparable to `the second coming of Christ` to one of my friends. (I hope that doesn't offend anyone, it's not meant to!)

Thanks everyone! It hasn't really sunk in yet, I think I need to bite into a caramel apple or something for it to REALLY mean something to me, haha. Oh, and Denise , I have a bonded retainer on the bottom, and i'll get my...uhh..now the name escapes me! The invisalign-esque retainer for top. Right n...

FREEEEDOMMM!

Sigh. I went in around 2pm today and got them off. The thing that probably took the LONGEST, was getting my bonded bottom retainer in. Then it was just CRACKCRACKCRACKPOPCRACK and they were all off. The removal of the glue, was...um....well I was sweating and about to jump up and say `ALRIGHT! Enoug...

I had a hook that would get caught in the top inside corner (like right above my lips) in my mouth. But get this: it would get caught in such a fashion, it would RIP. And bleed. And...I cried. It was that bad. That sounds painful! Put tons o' wax on the horrible little thing until it heals!

I had a gap between my two front teeth for awhile, then it closed. THEN it opened again, closed again, opened, closed, opened...you get the idea :)

Just use some wax, and keep lip balm handy. Your lip won't get caught nearly as much!

I unfortunately fall towards the more negative end of the spectrum, but only on some days. I have some really hard moments when I get down on myself and my appearance. I get extremely frustrated when I get food stuck in my teeth. However, I have learned to accept the way I look with my braces and ha...

My turn! 1. Getting your teeth flossed at the dentist while wearing braces is a painful and gag-inducing experience (for me at least, I have small mouth and it DOES. NOT. OPEN. THAT. WIDE.) 2. Food gets stuck. No matter what it is. Actually, everything from shirt cuffs to toothbrush bristles have be...

My orthodontist also said that I don't need them out since they won't interfere with what he's done with my teeth. My (new, since my old one was a..well..he wasn't very good) dentist said as long as I keep them clean it's fine. However, the last time I went to the orthodontist the assistant wanted t...
