well - the cleaning was the easy part! Turns out two old cavities had to be removed and i need crowns instead! Expensive and painful. thankfully, the two teeth are not braced (last two teeth on the bottom, rear, each side if that makes sense). I guess I am not going on vacation this year!!! :shock:

I am scheduled to have my first "teeth cleaning" since getting braces on.
any ideas what to expect? does it take longer with braces?

i use it in the am and pm. i like it. i am not sure if it's working since i am relatively newly braced but i figure it can't hurt. i've not had any canker sores etc. from it.

i was scheduled for my first adjustment tomorrow am. my ortho's office called. more than likely, due to east coast snow storm, they will cancel my appt. the next free appt is not for 2 wks. My braces were put on dec. 18. what kind of impact will a two wk delay in adjustment cause?

KK, good points. :D no, i am just brushing regularly and often and using Crest ProHealth rinse. I use Plax in the am. I don't have the other gadgets you mentioned. I tend to floss the front teeth but cant seem to get to the back ones. do folks with damons also get the elastics? i thought damons didn...

i have this combination too. so far, so good. NO pain, mild discomfort only during the first week. I am now in week 5. Go for my first adjustment on Feb. 14.
