I lost my Essex Retainer...

I've had my braces off for about 18 months now and I still wear my Essex retainer every night. I came home from college a few weeks ago only to have my dog eat my retainer (i had gotten lazy with leaving them laying around while at school). My dilemma is that while I have a spare set, they are sitti...

My ortho took care of most the reshaping on my teeth before the braces came off. As for that 'black triangle' what my ortho did was shave down in between the teeth then used the braces to force the teeth shut. Obviously, however, if your braces are already off he can't do it that way.

This is completely off-subject, but do you brits really drink that much tea? I always thought it was just some random stereotype they threw in movies. Anyway my ortho told me to just keep them in whenever not eating or drinking, so unless your grazing something like 8 hours a day i'm sure your fine.

Retainers and Pain

So I finally got my braces off this morning and I have an essex retainer on my top and bottom. The removal process wasn't too bad, just a lot of scrapping really, my teeth were just a little sore. But as time went on my teeth become more and more sore and now they're almost as tender as when i first...

Post-Braces Question

So, the big day is 15 days off and its finally sunk in enough for me to wonder what life will be like after braces. I know i am getting an Essex retainer afterwards but my question is what is it like to have a retainer in your mouth. My ortho said that I would wear them 24 hours for about 3 months, ...

My guy told me 18 months, its been just over a year and I'm about ready to have them off too. It just comes down to how fast your teeth move especially during early treatment.

College Life and Braces

Yes, I'm in college and I have braces. For any of you out there who have also moved beyond the hallowed halls of High School, but not yet in the "real" world and considering getting braces, I have a few words of wisdom. I got my braces at the end of my first semester of college freshman ye...
