Stretching my mouth open with sticks

Howdy, I had my lower jaw moved forwards a month ago, but my surgeon noticed I can't open my mouth very wide now. So now I have to put these ice-lolly-stick looking objects in my mouth, and build them up day by day until I can fit 2 and a half fingers worth in my mouth . Has anybody else had ...

thefuture, I had lower jaw surgery a month ago and have that too. Barely noticeable though. Definitely not swelling. I think it's where i keep biting my lip as I'm not used to having my lower jaw forward.

Spasms normal?

Hey, I had lower jaw surgery and my chin point corrected. I'm 14 days post op. Since about 11 days post op I have been experiencing occasional spasms in my jaw which literally feels like my jaw is snapping back into its old position. It's like the muscles suddenly tighten and try to pull it back int...

For me it was slightly different. I was only unhappy with my appearance and bite before my op. The braces made my teeth and bite look so good that I ended up not wanting the operation. The only reason I went through with it is because my ortho said that my teeth would return to an unaligned state if...

I'm 17 and had my op 8 days ago. I have had major tingling in my chin and lip ever since the op. Sometimes it gets so much I use the painkillers to supress it, even though it's not really pain. I take it this is what you mean by burning? With me it's like really intense fluctuations of tingling. As ...

Treat yourself to chocolate

I've just melted down some Galaxy chocolate, put it in the microwave on medium power until it melted, added just a slpash of milk and stirred, heated it a bit more on medium power, stirred again... ... then syringed the beautiful concoction into my mouth with a glass of water to wash it down! It was...

What different operations are there?

One thing that I think this board really lacks is some stickies up the top of the forum explaining some of the FAQs. I was just wondering, what different types of ops are there? I know there's lower jaw surgery, and upper jaw surgery, what else? I don't really know what SARPE is. Which ops are worst...

I'm 6 days after my op to bring my lower jaw forward. When I was 6 I broke my jawbone, so the left side has always been weaker than my right - and they didn't grow at the same rate. This meant my chin pointed to the left (because my healthy side grew more, pushing it to the left). I also had (I'm gu...

I hadn't even considered that I might lose weight until I'm in the thick of it now! I hate having liquidised food, I miss gorgeous, tastey food soooo much! I would kill for a massive burger right now.

They shaved my leg!

Howdy, It took me 2 days to realise that they shaved the top of my right leg during surgery! I can't work out why. I had a drip going into the top of my hand, and also another going into my lower arm and they didn't shave either of those 2 places (despite having hairy arms). I looked close up at my ...

Had op 3 days ago

Hey guys, Just wanted to start by saying that this is such a great site! I've visited a few times in the last couple of months but haven't posted until today. I think I'm probably being really dramatic and impatient, but I just want some advice on how long it will take me to heal fully. I had my op ...
