I'm 47 and getting braced, I'm proud of it , know it's going to hurt but will be worth it in a couple of years. Wondering if anyone has any good comebacks to people when they make there comments about my age and having braces. I just want to be ready with a good one . Thanks.

Glad to hear you like your hygientist , my daughter graduates this May and will be a Hygientist!!! LOL, that sounds exactly what I'm doing for my upper expander. AT first I had to coat it with wax during the day and nite, and now only at night, I'd wake up with my tongue stuck to it..it's getting much better and easier to talk , but the food is such a hassle and just doesn't taste the same. Hi went to doctor today and he packed my expander with wax and gave me a mouth rinse for pain and to help heal the sores on my tongue..I do have some relief now. Thank you for all your ideas and I will definately save your email. Hoping for a better tomorrow. Thank you ....

I am 47 and had an expander put in on Thursday, this is sunday and I'm in pain, my tongue is so sore and sides of mouth and it's so hard to eat, does this all go away? I have sores on tongue, I'm using a water pic, and Motrin. Help if there is any???? Gramsinbraces
