Bad Breath

I feel like I have bad breath from the braces, I'm very picky about brushing, but seems like no matter what I do there is a taste in my mouth like I possibly have bad breath. Has anyone ever had this ? Any suggestions? CAn braces give you bad breath? Thanks

Herbst Appliance

I had my upper expander removed this week, recieved it in Dec., it did a great job. This week I had this Herbst appliance put in. It was way to big for me, the screws were huge and protruded out from my mouth. I was very upset with this look, when I opened my mouth these huge screws would pop out an...

My expander has done the job that was needed in just four months, ortho is very happy and has all the room needed. Today he did not take it out but left it in for one more m...

I had a horrible first two weeks with expander, deep groves in my tongue and so painful. My ortho packed it with wax and I did that myself for about a week also the salt water rinses. Now hardly notice that I have it except when food gets trapped which is daily. Pain gone and it's so hard to believe...

I just want to stress it's a hassle to have expander but after awhile you learn to deal with it and it's not forever. Food gets trapped under it and for the first few weeks you will have a sore tongue until they learn to get along with each other. I used tons of wax to get me through it. All and all...

48 and I have the upper expander (not removable), it's working very well for me. It's a pain to get use to and a hassle to eat, but you do adjust to it, I hardly know I have it at times now. My ortho and I have both been very pleased with the movement, I'm glad I went for it. I'm sure everyones expe...
