I had the same type of bump above my a premolar next to my canine. I thought it was ab abcess.....I went to my dentist.....she laughed......it was just bone.....just apart of my jaw....it's supposed to be above my canine (I do have a smaller bump over the left canine.....According to her it's just a...

So my first five weeks in braces was okay. The inital pain only lasted about three days. Then I got plauged with dozens of canker sores. I did do salt water rinses....but I kinda knew they wouldn't help. I'm very prone to them. I get them from anything from the wrong toothpaste to spicy or sour food...

I don't need a root canal....yay.... :D I went to my dentist and she said it was just a part of my jaw, and agreed it was because of the braces moving my teeth. The bump had always been there, but because my canine has shifted it started to protrude and is further back than it should be. She said it...

I haven't had a root canal in that tooth ever. I've never had a root canal on any tooth. In fact I don't even have a filling in that tooth and I had a checkup from my dentist about 2 months ago. I'm not confusing Accutane with a bisphosphonate. It's isotretinoin (cis-13-retinoic acid) which is used ...

I think I need a root canal...
So a few days ago I noticed a really hard pea sized lump on my upper gum. It's way up there....like where the gums meet the upper lip. It doesn't hurt at all . I'm thinking it may be a painless abscess (painless because the root of the tooth is dead). I can't remember that tooth ever hurting me, and...

Karen: I am doing warm salt water rinses....I usually do them when I get an outbreak, it doesn't seem to help much, although even though it burns like hell at first it feels soothing. I'm also using Peroxyl, which seems to help them heal faster, but doesn't stop new ones from forming. Lisa: I'm awar...

More canker sores.....
Just a thread to rant about my stupid canker sores. I feel the way I did when I was a kid. I used to get dozens of them all at once. I have only 5 right now, but I can't say I've been free of them since I got braced. These aren't even from irritation from the actual brackets, bands or wires.....ther...

I have really small lateral incisors too. I think there kinda cute and wouldn't mind keeping them, but my ortho wants me to get them bonded to build them up a little when I get my braces off. She's going to leave spaces behind them so they can be built up. So if I don't get them bonded...I'll have l...

All but one of my teeth are bracketed. On my upper right side, the molar next to the band isn;t bracketed. My ortho said she needed to leave that one off, and she put a bend in the wire at that point (why I don't know). She said eventually she'll bracket it, but she needs to move my teeth over to fi...

I have a very deep overbite too. So deep that my top teeth completely cover my bottom teeth (and then some). When I got braced (about two weeks ago), I had the same problem. None of my molars touched. Chewing was not only painful but impossible. However that only lasted for about a week. Now most of...

Loose bracket already?
I've had my braces since last Tuesday. I noticed that one of my brackets is loose. It's all the way in the back (first one in from the molar band on the left side). I don't know how I broke it off. The bracket itself isn't broken, but the adhesive seal broke. I haven't been eating anything hard at a...

It's called Steven's- Johnsons Syndrome (SJS). If you've ever seen the thing thing on discovery Health wh...
