Is sugar free gum ok to chew with the braces on? I thought I was done with that for 15 more months. That certainly would be a good way to be chewing safely.
thanks

Bite is off
THANK you for mentioning the bite being off. Now that FREAKED me out! It was very sudden and happened at 2 weeks braced. I am only braced on top with bottoms to come later so it was really a marked change in bite. Within 3 days I had adjusted to the bite change and hardly notice it. I wondered if yo...

Makes me HAPPY
KK~ That makes me SO HAPPY to hear!! The loose feeling started in the past few days and I hope that the movement will come soon too! I have been braced for 4 weeks. I am ready for movement. The ortho said that there is no way to predict how a person will react to the process in regards to the speed ...

Those new oil based products that roll on have been very helpful for me in this process.

ME TOO????
I was just wondering the same question! I have been braced on tops only for 2 weeks and after 10 days realized my bite has changed. I am concerned though because the ortho told me that the tops needed to move right and from the bite it seems to have all gone left. URGH! There is so much stress at th...

We are on our way to pain free straight teeth!
GOOD for you! I have to admit I am glad I waited too. The techniques of 20 years ago are what everyone seems to base their ideas on and they are all gloom and doom! I am at 2 weeks and too can not wait to see movement! Glad the post helped. I felt a bit silly after I started the post when I was told...

We are all in the same boat and I am SO glad
I can certainly now feel that there is probably movement happening and some tenderness when I bite down but I am convinced there will be no throbbing or "pain"! There are lots of explanations above from experienced "bracers" as to the psychological reasons and modern braces. Even...

pain
I wish the general concensus was what I now know and what you are all sharing. The first day in braces link is admitedly where I gathered much of the information I used to develope my expectations. I did try to do my research by reading all of those entries and the newbie information on the site and...

Be educated and prepared NOT nervous
Jovi fan, I am so kicking myself for not getting these sooner!! I think that I let others pain experiences hold me back for a long time and now I am kicking myself for not doing this sooner! I could have been out of the braces by now.... You will be fine if my first 2 days are any indicator.... I am...

Are you seeing progress the ortho finds fast enough??
What does your ortho think of your progress? I hate to be finding out in 6 months it was not going right? I go so infrequently to the ortho that in 6 months I would only see him 3 or 4 times..... I do share the concerns and I am so glad someone else has the same concerns. Thanks for your reply. jeff...
