I have clear ligs on top, but stick to silver on the bottom. When I was in India at the end of last year I had silver ligs on top too and they still stained, but it wasn't that bad. I am a huge tea drinker (I have four teapots!) but I have found when I'm really craving a cuppa, a herbal can be just ...

Elyse's braces story - one year on
Wow, I haven't been on here for so long. Things have been so hectic. I left my job and went away to India to do some humanitarian work, and now I'm back on board! It's been one year since I had my braces put on, and while I have attended all my scheduled appointments, I feel that progress is lagging...

F - Other. My dentist doesn't like to pull teeth unless necessary, and as I was late losing my other teeth thought that eventually my canines would follow suit. They didn't, and I delayed going to the dentist during university for money reasons. Eventually I bit the bullet after finishing uni and ge...

I have been terrible and updating this journal! I feel awful! Let me recap: Third adjustment: Nothing really out of the ordinary. I had a wedge put against my lower incisor to start turning it. That has worked well, and it's almost straight! Fourth adjustment: My fourth adjustment was a couple of da...

Hi Lorien, I have a thick fereneum like you, which has also caused a diastema. Mine isn't quite as large as yours, and I can move my top lip quite freely. I also have impacted canines, and I'm only 5 months into treatment, and my ortho is going to close the gap before the frenectumy and the extracti...

I work in public relations and no-one has really said anything. I might say something to a work mate (we get on really well) but no-one has acted negatively. I am a little worried about going for interviews with extractions though.... The day after I got my braces on I went to a violin lesson...

Your teeth look lovely and white so you should have a really great end result. My baby canines never fell out either, but my adults are just stuck in the gum! The ortho thinks that they might fall out by themselves with all the movement that is happening around them, but other than that it's extract...

Well, I haven't updated in quite a long time. I thought I would feel better progress if I kept the updates along with my adjustments. My 2nd adjustment is tomorrow, and I have definitely noticed movement these past two months. There is a space which has formed next to my left canine, which obviously...

I don't think that's possible. Taking braces off and putting them on again is a huge operation, would take up a lot of time, and cost you a lot of money. Also, your braces should come off only when your teeth have moved into their correct position, otherwise they could move back and then you'll be i...
