Sorry to hear about your delay. At least your Brace Day (bday) will be ultra easy to remember that close to your Birthday. :wink: I have one band on a molar and I was told it was banded instead of using a bracket because it is a crown and my Ortho has had problems with the glue bonding well to crown...

I also have a lower jaw that sits too far back. My Ortho wouldn't even agree to treat me until I went to my Oral Surgeon and agreed to the surgery. Every case will be different but I was told they will straighten my teeth with braces as much as they can and then I will go in and have my jaw extended...
