Oh, I forgot explaining the def. plan: -Approx. 24 months of treatment. -Full braces (ceramic) + TPA + Lingual arch -Inter-arch Elastics (later) She put me the bands, the lingual arch and the TPA for first, and two weeks later the braces came on. She said that it was to avoid too much discomfort. In...

Hi, I do have a deep bite and TMJ issues too. By the moment, my ortho is trying to correct it just with braces. It is a little bit annoying bc. upper teeth hit lower braces all the time, and I cannot completely close the mouth. My ortho says that if some bracket pops off, she will place some bonding...

At 27, and I am a new braceface! I have full clear braces since last week, but I've been wearing the TPA and the lingual arch for 3 weeks already. jorx's story::new appointment: nance still in :(
Hi everybody, After a long time, I am seriously considering to start the braces journey. I have a deep bite, an unilateral posterior crossbite and severe lower crowding. I have TMJ pain too, so by the moment I wear a splint. I have been wearing it by night for two years, but now my ortho has told me...

I visited another ortho, as some of you recommended me. What she said was quite different from the first one: she does not want to start treatment until my jaw is more relaxed, so she told me to wear my splint full time for 2 or 3 months and then go back to see her. She also told me that she could n...

Wow, you have been very nice! You are right that I should get more consultations, although the ortho I visited seems nice to me...and if I spend around 200$ in each consultation I won't have money for the actual treatement! I guess the nance is not so terrible, although she has told me that I will w...

Nance button
I went for a consultation, and the ortho told me that I have a unilateral posterior crossbite, a (very, very) deepbite and severe lower crowding. She sentenced me to two years of full braces, plus a Nance button , plus a lingual arch, plus elastics... (I guess she does not have more hardware availab...

Thank you very much for your replies! Fortunately, my TMJ problems do not seem to be as severe as those you have explained, although I am a little bit concerned about the possibility of a worsening in the future, as my dentist –and some of you- have suggested. Could the nightguard prevent a hypoth...

advice needed: braces and TMJ
Hi, Two years ago I started to have some TMJ pain, and my dentist made me a splint to wear at night. It worked fine for a while, and the pain almost disappeared. However, now I do have some occasional pain and my jaw is clicking again. I visited another dentist, that told me that my problem was due ...
