You poor thing, I would have panicked too if a crown popped off. As a matter of fact, I thought that is what had happened when my lingual arch snapped on me because it is attached to crowns on both sides of my mounth. As far as the ortho replacing the crown if it gets ruined, I seriously doubt. But ...

I guess I can join this party. I clench so hard that I am waking myself up at night with jaw pain. During the day, I have to force myself to stop, even more so since I got my elastic. Lee

Platinum, that is one of my main issues, my ortho told me it would be 20 months. I would always hope for less. You should ask your ortho, they should have mentioned how long it would all take at your consult. Lee

That is great news! I know how hard and expensive it can be to work through all those root canals and crowns. I have quite a few myself. Here's to April 1st. Congratulations on upcoming brace day!

Hi Ran, I have an upper linqual "bar" or "arch" depending on what your otho calls it, I believe they serve the same purpose. The bar is attached to a molar on each side and serves to work as an anchor so they won't move. My upper one had taken some getting used to, you will have ...

Hi Lisa, I'm 48 and was braced for the first time November of last year. It was a bit of a shock to me, but most people think it's great that I could do it. Needed to fix my bite, so as Karen said, nice looking teeth are a bonus. Hang in there. :D Lee

That is a good question, but that must be something that is up to each individual ortho. I had spacers for 2 weeks, got my braces and had an extraction the day after the braces were put on. Did you ask your ortho why he wanted to wait? Lee

Hi everyone! I got back to work from my adjustment just under 2 hours ago and suddenly wow, everything my ortho did kicked in. He was going to file my teeth, but said they weren't ready yet. Still, I have a new linqual arch (yuk!) , new wires on top and bottem then he removed a powerchain that...

3 Months & 1st Official Adjustment Tomorrow!

Tomorrows my 3 month anniversary date and my first adjustment not disguised by repairs. Go figure, I though that I could go in for once and no repairs, and what happens? This morning my lingual arch broke. Had to call and find out how to remove the rest of it so I could talk normally. Oh well...

Hi TI, it sure is annoying. I think I have had a total of maybe 10 or 11 come off and also a molar band. My ortho finally put bands on the ones with the metal and it has been WONDERFUL not having to worry about them popping off all the time. But, I am kind of jealous because you get to have colors, ...

I've had elastics for 2 months now to move my centerline over and start to close an open bite. I have noticed many changes, one day my teeth meet on one side and it feels like I have something of a bite forming, then that goes away and my teeth meet on the other side and then just 3 days ago, I woke...

I agree, change your user name. What your experiencing is about the same for everyone. SHOCK  My first thought was "How did I get myself into this?" Yet time does fly and before you know it, 1, 2, 3 and more ....... months will go by and it does get better. Lee
