Hi Linda, I was reading about your elastics. I was braced at the end of November and have had elastics since about the fifth week. I have a class II, but I think that at this point, they are using them to bring my center line over. Lucky for you that you seem to be at the end of treatment with yours.

I had my teeth narrowed a bit about 8 weeks ago to make room for a couple of spacers for additional bands, but at my next adjustment, the ortho is going to be taking them down even more. It does make them tender for a while.

The changes in time frames are truely amazing and talking about short sentences, the post about 8 weeks is something.

Karen, my guy told me 20 months, then a retainer and a bit splint. I wonder what the average time being braced is now :?: I know that back when I was 13 and "almost" braced they had estimated the time to be from 4 to 6 years. Right now, that is something I couldn't even imagine.... :shock:...

I have to admit, there haven't been many comments. Those I've had were pretty supportive. However, one thing I found is that some people were afraid to say anything at all. I think they were more conscious of the braces than I am. My dentist told me I look like I'm in my 20's. Right!
