I don't know for sure what it is called, but I googled it and came up with this link:

http://www.dental--health.com/gagreflex ... ntary.html

My guess from this information is that it would be called Benzocaine spray...but ask your ortho!

Hope this helps.

Are you a 'gagger'? Ask for the spray!!

I have always had a TERRIBLE time with any impressions because I would gag almost to the point of throwing up from the stuff in the back of my throat. My orthodontist this time used a numbing spray before doing the impressions. There was NO problem (and each impression took 3 minutes...it was for In...

I was advised to clean it with a soft toothbrush and SOAP (not toothpaste). Apparently the toothpaste can leave residue behind... Of course, you'll want to use a separate toothbrush than the one you use to clean your teeth. She also recommended, if it tastes nasty after the soap to rinse it in mouth...

My journey...Invisalign compared to Invisaligntype retainer?

So, my journey continues! My last 4 months have been spent wearing a "distalizer" appliance with rubber bands to correct my bite. Got that thing off on tuesday...YAY! My ortho has just now given me an "Invisalign retainer" to wear for the next 6 weeks or so until my actual aligne...

I have a HSA/FSA. Before the year started I indicated how much I wanted to put in the account ($2000). They divided it equally between my paychecks, so the same amount comes out of each check, pretax. I can submit the bills as I incur expenses, even if I haven't deposited enough in the account to co...

So, I am going in for part II of the appliance today. Part I was the spacers, and I believe part III is the metal bar. I looked up the "pendulum" appliance on google. It doesn't look quite like what I am getting...it has a little more metal on the bottom. I actually found a site called spe...

New to the board! Anyone get an "appliance" b4 Inv

Hey all! So I have decided to go with Invisalign. But, my orthodontist said I had two options: 1. Just get the invisalign on its own (1.5 years). This would straighten the teeth, but not correct the bite (my top teeth cover my bottom teeth). 2. Get this "appliance" for ~4 months beforehand...
