I’m with you Lionfish . I have only had my braces for about 2 weeks, full top, and bottom, so I'm still trying to get used to this whole eating thing without looking to ridiculous. I tend to eat at my desk and try to get as much out with an indertens brush then I head to the bathroom for a ...

I have found my favorite floss and more often than not, I don't need to use a threader. It is the OralB Satin floss. I am absolutely IN LOVE with it! I have had the same spool for quite some time so I am not sure what the cost is, however I know that it is relatively inexpensive. :D

Hi Gennel , I don't know what your ortho may offer as a second option, however, it looks as though you have had movement. I know it may not appear that way to you but to an outside point of view it looks as though you have. It can be soo frustrating when you want and expect things to move quicker th...

I seem to have the same issue as you do, my top two front teeth were more aligned prior to my braces and my bottom will be done quicker. However, rest assured that this is normal. I addressed this very same issue with my ortho and they said that it will get worse before it gets better. One cause may...

I checked with them about this since my bite is worse now and I have more teeth misaligned than I did prior to getting my braces on. I had braces for 4 years when I was younger and there was only so much they could do until I was older. Luckily, my braces are at no cost to me, I am extremely fortuna...

Pictures after 1 week (Ok, now there are pictures)

So I thought I would post pictures of what I look like after only a week. What's interesting is that my teeth have become less straight due to flaring on one side while trying to pull a tooth in which has caused the other to flare out. I know that it will get worse before it gets better. http...

From what I understand, it is genetic. I am missing a tooth and was missing a wisdom tooth. Apparently, my mom was missing many teeth and my dad had all of his. According to my dentist, I am missing the two due to my mom. Luck of the draw I guess. Off topic a bit, when you had the flipper put in, ha...

So I'm seeing a spring and since I will be having the same thing done, I have to ask, how painful is the spring? How do they "install it". Seeing that makes me that much more nervous!

Thank you ebohauser! I will have to have the implant done for the same tooth just on my right hand side. How was the process of having the other tooth moved back? Can you give any helpful tips or share how it was for you? I will have a tooth extracted soon to start the process of moving the tooth ba...

Hi Jillian, great question! I am wondering the same exact thing as I will be having a tooth extracted within the next month to have the other tooth moved backward. I will eventually have a fake tooth put on my braces until the end of my treatment when I get a prosthetic tooth implanted. Hope it all ...

Day 2

Well, the pressure is not nearly as bad today, however, my right front tooth and right back molar have waged an all out war against me in an effort to convey their unhappiness. I just hope I win. I have been doing my warm salt rinses and applied the wax at night. The only problem is that I am self-c...

Thank you for the encouragement, I would love to be able to chew right now, however, a tooth needs to be extracted as it is a baby tooth and the adult tooth came down in front in the wrong spot right next to my right front tooth. They did not bracket the tooth to be extracted so it hits the bottom b...

Advice on my b-day

Hello all! I'm new here, well sort of, I have been "lurking" for a bit. Anyways, I want to commend you all for being so supportive. Second, I'm in need of some advice. I just had my braces put on today, full ceramic top and full metal mini bottom. Now, I am in intense pain and feeling more...
