Thanks, I'm really glad I started the journey. Although, I'm beginning to regret the timing.

My best speech comes when I am relaxed and talking casually to friends. When I am uncomfortable or slightly stressed my mouth freezes up. I am practicing on slowing it down a bit.

Maybe I can mime...

...because I surely can't communicate verbally. Had my ceramic uppers put on last Thursday. Lowers are far ahead of the uppers, so they will sit idle for a while. For those who read my previous post, I had no problems at all returning to work after my mid-morning appointment. Very little pain or dis...

Glad to hear it went well!

Sorry I can't be much of a help... I'm getting mine on tomorrow and am woefully under prepared judging by KK's list.

"Be positive and have a great appointment! Then enjoy your 1 pm!" Odds are my morning appointment will go much smoother than my afternoon. And my wife recently told me that the only positive quality I possessed was my blood type (O+, which came as a surprise to her, btw)! Glad to have happ...

Kinda makes me wish my appointment was on Friday for the lagged-discomfort. I just realized that my ortho's office isn't even open on Friday... I guess my $ is enough to subsidize a perpetual 3-day weekend. If only I had this little bit of info when making my career choice. Anyhow, I'm planning to s...

Very reassuring comments! I didn't mention that my wife is 8 months pregnant and would feel extremely guilty to leverage her transport. Glad to hear that it can be done. I do feel a bit strange about leaving in the morning an coming back with BRACES in the afternoon, though. Haven't mentioned it to ...

How plausible? back to work after braces put on...

I have a mid-morning appointment to have my braces put on this coming Thursday. Ceramics up top and four metal brackets on the bottom. I was originally thinking... no problem, I'll be back to work after lunch. I told my wife this and she laughed (she had braces during childhood). She thought that I ...

Got my spacers in about 36 hours ago... no pain at all so far. But then again, the whiskey hasn't worn off yet. I should really read up a bit more about the whole process, though. I was ready to leave the ortho thinking all was set for the "install" next week and he says "obtw, your g...
