Ahmm I think some of you guys are being a bit over dramatic. A piercing is only as good as the piercer and the piercee. If the person who did the piercing did a bad job or you have skin that gets keloids etc then it will be all wrong. If you don't take care of the piercing it will also just heal bad...

I actually had a similar experience. On my visit to the dentist before I got my braces I had a really deep cavity that she said I probably would need a root canal eventually. I just had it filled but a few months after I got braced I started experiencing a lot of pain in the area. Another visit to t...

I put on my braces just before my birthday last year. Looking at some of those pics that were taken in a side profile ,i had an overjet that was gettting progressively worse. One year later, looking at the 'after' pics I can see an OBVIOUS improvement in my profile. I was really shocked that half wa...

ok that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. The intake officer kind of threw me off when she said my wire ties make my teeth move faster after the ortho said they are to hold them in place.

But what about my rubber band question? Am I doomed to chew rubber:?:

Rubberband and wire ties question and update!

Ok so my ortho just told me that she cut 6 months off my estimated treatment time  and that my wire ties on my uppers are to keep my teeth in place. But to me they look like wired powerchains. She has also indicated from the beginning of my treatment that my bite is A-ok. Does this mean I don...

I can't believe treatment is so expensive in the U.S . I live in a third world country and my full treatment is about $3000 USD and thats only because I have ceramic uppers. Plus I will get another $500 off from insurance. And there is 0% financing. Almost all these orthodontist have been trained ov...

Ok so I USED to play with my hooks but not with my tongue, just my bottom lip. That was up until the day I stabbed the inside of my mouth with the hook. Everytime I tried to talk the hook would keep getting caught in the wound and just irritated it more and more . Needless to say I go out of that ha...

When I got my braces on my b/f was suprised cause he did not know I was serious about getting them. He is still very supportive but the issue with getting married did come up. Although we are planning to get married, we are not quite financially ready to do so . I told him the braces just bought us ...

kk I am trying to be as positive as possible as I know I have a long road ahead still but it is still a bit unsettling to see things that did not need fixing before is now starting to shift. I suppose it will all be fine in the end but its the in between that I worry about.

One step forward two steps back

Please let me know if I am being paranoid or not. Two months into braces to fix minor crowding at bottom and an overjet+deep bite. After two months my bottom teeth are almost completely aligned in the arch although there is still some rotation. Why is it that my midline at the top seems to be anglin...

I had a consult about 3 years ago and put off having braces. I suspected that my lower incisiors weres continuing to displace and rotate and went back to revisit the idea. When I walked in and saw my old xrays I just asked 'Where do i sign?'. I could not believe that my overjet looked that bad from ...
