Thanks for the advice, encouragements and compliments you guys :D Morning after report: Was woken up by a nagging ache in my central and lateral incisors. Took the edge off the sting by keeping a cooler of iced-water beside me, and sipping constantly. Since I'm not a huge fan of drinking (just water...

But I definitely see movement that I was not expecting so early. My top teeth overlap my bottom teeth now by maybe half a millimeter resting normally. I've never been able to even forcefully pull my bottom teeth behind my top teeth in any way. In just four days? I'm inspired--or rather, I h...

That fast? Maybe alignment changes quicker than bite. Heh, They weren't as light as I expected either :P

Whew... Glad you're finally on the road to functional teeth, wonder why your second brace team did that, like. Hey, that looks good, who cares if they don't work as well as they should, I mean, who uses teeth, right? :P

Good luck on brace-day! We're rooting for you:D

Hi and welcome! Wow, your experience sounds messy indeed, but I suppose that's just gonna make the end result all the sweeter. Hm I think what you have is an underbite, I've an overbite, which is the upper teeth overlapping the lower ones.

Update with pictures :) and good luck![/list]

That's great! It must be encouraging to know you're almost done with the brace shenenigans, even though those elastics test your patience.

This may be a silly question. But can you talk while wearing them?

Whoo! Firstly, congratulations on getting the bracing done and that you didn't need spacers :D I went through my bracing 9am on the 16th but am feeling the ache. As for feeling a little better, my 0.02 is you're on your way to a great smile, and there are always people in pain if you need to commiss...

Aww! *hug ishasha* That must have been terrible! And the itching + soreness + ache... I get that too, even in dreams I swear Lol. It's like, fall asleep to a painful mouth, wake up and it's the first thing that greets me in the morning. For some odd reason, painkillers like paracetamol don't work wi...

Dental fluorosis only happens while the tooth enamel is developing in childhood. White spots developing on an adult's teeth are more likely to be due to demineralization, which can be a precursor to caries if not caught in time. White demineralized spots are quite common in fixed brace wearers who ...

Too much fluoride can cause white spotting on teeth, otherwise known as dental fluorosis. It's strange that your ortho told you to brush WITH fluoridated toothpaste. Good idea to double check cos fluorosis can weaken the bone.

That's tartar if I'm not mistaken. I had that appear too when my premolars were extracted, on the sides where the teeth used to connect. I guess it's where the floss couldn't reach, but the dentist could easily scrape it off using his picks.
