Re: Bite has not been fixed

What do you mean by full arch retainers? - Hawleys? Also, I've read that NTI can cause open bites. Is this true?

Re: Bite has not been fixed

It's not just the grinding. My bite is just very uncomfortable. The kicker is that in many cases it's the teeth not fitting well that causes the grinding. I suspect for me, it is the combination of stress and the malocclusion that sets off the clenching/grinding.

Bite has not been fixed

I posted this in the retainer forum, but thought I should post here as well. After 3+ years of invisalign + elastics, I am now considered done. I originally had a significant anterior open bite( >8mm) and was considered a difficult case. It's a long story, but I was wearing a nightguard for a number...

invisalign nighmare

After 3 years of invisalign + elastics, I am now considered done. I originally had a significant anterior open bite( >8mm) and was considered a difficult case. It's a long story, but I was wearing a nightguard for a number of years and my ortho thinks it caused my open bite. The nightguard did not f...

clenching and grinding

Does anyone clench or grind their teeth at night? If yes, what is your ortho doing about it? My ortho says that the trays will protect my teeth. I really don't think the trays protect me, because I still feel pain when i wake up. My teeth are sore and my jaw aches. I bought a soft splint that you ca...

Is your pain completely gone when you switch to the nxt tray

Just wondering.. Is your pain completely gone before you switch to the next tray? There are still a few teeth that still feel sensitive especially when I brush, and it's almost time for me to switch to a new liner. How much pain do you guys still have before you switch to a new liner? If not pain, d...

warning about attachments

I tried switching to a new tray the other day and I could not get my lower aligner to fit over one attachment. I have seven on top and two on the bottom. I saw my ortho yesterday. He wanted me to wear it for a few days to see if my tooth will eventually move into place. He and his technician could n...

Wow. How do you eat 5x a day and still get in 22 hours? You must be a quick eater. Do you spend enough time brushing and flossing? I must say I am very obsessive about brushing and flossing. I must spend about 15 minutes after every meal cleaning my teeth.

how many hours do you wear you trays

Hi all, I started Invisalign a few months ago. I am on a 2 week schedule. Just wondering, how many hours do you wear your trays? A while back, my ortho. mentioned that the minimum no. of hours is 20. I asked him again yesterday and he said that I should try to stick to 22 hours. I try to stick to 22...
