Re: Genioplasty - Honest Opinions Please
After A LOT of research I have now decided to go private and pay for the chin implant as it is a simpler surgery, less complications, quicker recovery time and is reversible. I feel the sliding genio is too extreme for me and the surgeon is confident I can achieve a good result without the risks of ...

Re: Implant vs Sliding Genioplasty vs Jaw Surgery?
Hi, I am in the same predicament as you, I was offered all kind of solutions from different surgeons. The two I consulted with online using only photos advised either jaw surgery or sliding genioplasty but when I met with two diff max fac surgeons face to face they both said I had a good bite (due t...

Re: Genioplasty - Honest Opinions Please
Hi thanks for your replies. It is a sliding Genioplasty I am referring to. Very confused, there seems to be far more long term affects of this surgery but at the same time I feel like I'm not going to get this opportunity again. Ummmm its a tough call, the implant does seem like a much simpler optio...

Genioplasty - Honest Opinions Please
Hey, I had braces back on 2007-2008 when I was an active member of this board. At the time I it was suggested that I have jaw surgery but wussed out as it sounded horrific - full credit to those who've been through it, you are braver than me. Anyway go forward 8 years and I have really been having i...

I have both on uppers aswell, mainly to prevent a gap from re-opening. Loving the bonded retainer, doesn't stick out at all and so nice to know that my teeth are secure. Essix at night to stop the molars moving. Just noticed this post was started last Oct....so if the original poster sees this....ho...

I think that if your concerned, your actual ortho some come speak to you. Our teeth are a big deal to us and I think they need to think about that sometimes, we're not there for the fun of it, wouldn't fork out all that money if it wasn't very important to us, therefore if you have concerns, the ort...

Hey Thank you so much for your replies. I am gutted that my ortho didn't point this out in the beginning. I didn't know a thing about orthodontics before and just assumed that braces would fix everything!! Once my teeth improved I realised that my gummy smile was actully getting worse!! The ortho th...
