Firstly, apologies for dragging up an ancient thread! Since getting braced in March, I've lost 14lb. I was starting to get worried about it because although I wanted to lose a little weight, to lose that much in such a short space of time was starting to concern me. However, reading this thread has ...

I'm learning so much about teeth on here!!

I never knew the "perfect" relative position of upper teeth. Looking at that pic, mine have never been right! But they seem to be getting there now, thanks to my dentist, Dr Lau. :D

Thanks Karen! :D Yep, I'm well chuffed with the front gap closing so quickly!! Mind you, I did want them out originally and my dentist promised me they'd be sorted in 6 months so I guess he knew the gaps wouldn't take that long to close. Fingers crossed the other ones close just as quick!!

35 and have braces....AGAIN!

Hey all. I've posted a few times here now so thought I'd post the link to my blog where I'm charting my progress. It's only been 3 weeks but I'm very impressed with the results so far!! Anyway, if you fancy having a look, it's at http://jaynesteeth.blogspot.com/ At the end of my braces treatment, I ...

Just counted. I have 27. I thought I had less than that as I had 4 out when I was a kid for my first brace and I've had 2 extractions on the bottom. Having the 4 out was a big mistake though as that's why I'm in braces again...too many gaps!! I'll also have to have bridge work at the end of my treat...

Just thought I'd pop in and let you know that I went for my first adjustment today. Firstly, the gap between my two front teeth is now completely gone but I mainly wanted to thank you again Meryaten for your supporting words. As soon as I showed my dentist the problem of the shrinking tooth he fixed...

:D Thank you SO much for reassuring me, you're a star!!! Hopefully the tooth won't get any smaller now the wires are straight and my dentist can fix it at my next appointment. The only other thing that's bothering me is if the front gap has closed that quickly, surely it'll open again just as fast. ...

Thanks for the reply Meryaten. :) It was my right central tooth that lost the bracket. Here's a pic of my two front teeth. As you can see, it's noticeably shorter than the other one now. http://www.willschoice.com/frontteeth.jpg And this is my two front teeth last week..... http://www.willschoice.co...

Thank you so much for the swift response!! :D I've spent the last few hours watching a slideshow I made of my tooth moving upwards and worrying myself sick! My problem is that I hate my teeth so much I wanted them extracted but of course my dentist recommended braces. So every time there's a ...

Quick question

Me again!! (You're all gonna be so sick of me in a few months, lol). Anyway, you know one of my brackets fell off? Well I got it fixed but my dentist put it on slightly lower than the adjoining one. Now I've noticed that that tooth appears to have shrunk! It's slightly shorter than the other...

Ahh, no worries!

Well my dentist gave me a check-up when I went for the consult. Luckily I didn't need any fillings or anything. So it was just the clean which he did on the day of the braces. :)

Glad to hear you've decided to go for it! :D Not sure how I feel about having teeth extracted. I had 4 teeth extracted as a kid and a brace which gave me a great smile but over the years my teeth have moved back into their origial position (no retainer) and I now have a very gappy smile. I won't smi...

Hi there

I don't know about anyone else, but my dentist cleaned my teeth the day he put my braces on. Maybe yours will be the same?

Thanks Karen! :D I'm off to the dentist in about 30 mins for him to stick the bracket back on. The gap between my two front teeth seems to have widenened again this morning but I think that's cause the bracket has fallen off? Anyway, I'll post some piccies later and you can all see the state of my m...

WOW, thanks for the fast replies! :D This is actually my second time with braces, I had them as a kid but wasn't given a retainer so over the years my teeth have moved back to where they were. Grrrr. So now, at 35, I'm starting again, lol. Also, the one I had as a child was just a wire on a plate. I...
