I was wondering this too. Seems like a whole lot of trouble for something that may not even help. Anyone else found ortho surgery helpful in reducing pain associated with TMJ?

That's strange... my surgeon is removing my wisdom teeth (all 3 of them) and doing my jaw all in the same operation.

Can anyone confirm a link between temporo-mandibular joint (TMJ) disorder and 'shiners' under the eyes? I found a few websites that seem to suggest they are related. Just wondering - if a genioplasty is performed in conjunction with oral surgery is it generally covered by medical insurance?
