I've always eaten a lot of salad and couldn't survive a year or more without. Rocket works very well, and watercress. Though I do pull off some of the very long stalks as they get caught behind the wires. But I can't find a satisfactory way of eating cucumber: it looks as though it ought to be quite...

I seem to drool when I talk too much, or even talk at all. I have to keep dabbing at the corners of my mouth with a tissue. Really embarrassing

Hi cwatt from another 50+. :-1

Deep bite, cross bite: snap. All these years I'd assumed that if they weren't fixed as a child I was stuck with them. But I've had Damon 3s top and bottom since March and I'm thrilled with the changes.

Best of luck with your treatment.

Thanks for the support. :D Yes, she's fantastic my dentist. She even turned up at my first consultation with the ortho (to stop me chickening out!) and has said I can phone her for a reassuring chat any time. Since reading all the advice here I realise I possibly should have got second or third opin...

Saying hello

Time to say a proper hello. I got Damon 3s top and bottom at the beginning of March this year and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for straight(er) teeth by the time I'm drawing my pension. I've always hated my very crooked teeth,: crowded on the bottom and the upper laterals twisted around behind the...

I had that in the first weeks when my braces went on. I decided it was because there was no comfortable position for my teeth to rest together so I was tensing up to hold them slightly apart. And if I lost concentration my jaw snapped shut. Then my teeth shifted a bit so I could close them and it st...

First adjustment went smoothly. Thanks to everyone here I was ready for the loose feeling when the wire came off. So I now have a slightly heavier wire on top but no change on the bottom. I asked him about the uneven brackets and the fact that the central has been pushed in and the lateral pulled ou...

Thanks very much for the advice. Not to panic too much! I have my first adjustment this afternoon so I'll try to ask my ortho or the assistant.

Brackets....

Please, does anybody have any advice? How do you suggest to your orthodontist that he might have put a bracket in the wrong place? I've had Damons top and bottom for seven weeks. The bracket on the right central incisor is much nearer the bottom edge of the tooth than that on the left, and in the la...
