Re: Has Anyone had Plate Removal?

Realize I'm incredibly late to this party, but Tilly's comments sound exactly like what happened with me. I had upper jaw surgery in 2007 and just had the bone plates removed last Tuesday (12 years later) because of ongoing sinus issues related to plates. ENT who did my plate removal says screws/pla...

Upper jaw screws protruding/slight pain?

Hey ya'll I bet most of you won't remember me it's been so long, but I had upper jaw and septoplasty in December of 2007. I am feeling a bit of a twingy pain under my right nostril in my face, right where I know there to be a screw. Right after surgery and for the first year I could really feel the ...

Two thoughts. 1) while I would never ever condone going with a surgeon you are uncomfortable with and indeed myself elected not to have surgery ten years ago originally because the surgeon made me uncomfortable, I would still advise a consult with him if he is the specialist in the area just to see ...

Yes, it stinks that we are having to deal with it but in all honesty we are the lucky ones. My dad is 62, sleeping with a cpap machine every night for tv rest if his life and not considering surgery. I am a carbon copy of him or at least I was before surgery. My uncle and his son both too have the s...

Also, no one gave me crap at the DMV. They just took the photo and acted like public Employees, annoyed they had to work.

Passport I wrote out an explanation and sent as a renewal, no problem.

Laugh it off. I worked with a partner a lot two summers ago and we were on a good first name basis when I left for the summer. I returned this September, and my office is right across from his. Not a word. Not even a smile in my direction. Nothing. I thought, okay, so it's different when recruiting ...

My lips were chapped out the kazoo and peeling, but that only lasted for the first two weeks or so. It's because of the drool. That and I couldn't breath through my nose, that was what caused my drill (lips not closing b/c couldn't breath)? Anyway, once the swelling goes down it should help so don't...

Re: Open bite, braces for a second time :(

Since my teeth are straight already I'm wondering how long I'd have to wear the braces prior to surgery. I like you had braces for the second time for jaw surgery purposes, for upper surgery like yours (but no chin as I have a big enough one as it is :D). I got braces on August 13, 2007 and had sur...
