Hey pokergirl, sorry I haven't had the best internet lately. My ROM is soooo much better now! I'm about 7 weeks post op now and have been pleasantly surprised by just how much I'm able to eat. I'm able to open my mouth enough to fit (approximating) 1 & 1/2 fingers (if my finger could be split in...

I started doing yoga probably... day 10 after surgery. I couldn't do all the poses, like leaning my head back completely or anything else that put pressure on my head/jaw area, but by week 3 I could do all of the poses. My doctor cleared me for exercise the second week so as long as you're not putti...

But with all those appointments and such, time really does go by fast and you'll be ready for surgery in no time...

Hi All, How are you all doing in this heat? I'm getting unwired next Tuesday, September 4th (woohoo!) and will have been wired by then for 6 weeks. Now my original plan was to get Chicken Madeira at Cheesecake Factory, or steak as my celebratory meal that night. However, everyone keeps telling me th...

Thank you asd & Smile2006! :D I am wired shut for 5 more weeks, so 6 weeks in total. Ick. I just started brushing my upper front teeth with a baby toothbrush and making sure to use the mouthwash 3 times a day religiously . I think it's helping overall but I wish I could really get in there with ...

Wired

I am 1 week post op, wired shut & biting on a splint, and I have to ask (gross as it is), did anyone else have issues with being unable to brush their teeth? I'm worried about getting cavities and the health of my gums, and my tongue feels disgusting . Is this normal? Is there anything I can do ...

THE SWELLING :O

Hello All, I'm 2 days post op now and very, very swollen. Did anyone else find their swelling kind of scary afterward? I'm just trying to get used to being wired shut. I have a splint in my mouth and I'm wired shut. I'm having trouble with coughing as it is nearly impossible. I think the 2 hardest t...
