Thanks for the responses, there are just so many things that are happening that they definitely did not prepare me for. They should really give you an Orthognathic Surgery Recovery for Idiots that outlines day by day quirks. Well I am happy to report that I finally got 8 hours of sleep last night. O...

I had prepared another bedroom before surgery so I could be self contained, but I made arrangements for my sister to stay with us so my daughters had some one to care for them. The bedroom was loaded with beverages and medication so I only had to leave to use the bathroom and that was only a few ste...

And yet another question

I have noticed that my skin is going through some horrible changes, especially on my chin. My nose and chin just seems to be a grease slick covered in tiny pimples. Anyone have the same experience? Any advice on how to treat it? Is it 8 weeks post op yet? How do I manage to sleep for 8 hours a night?

I am currently 12 days out of surgery and I had someone tell me yesterday that I looked great, that you would never know I just had surgery. Fortunately my swelling wasn't so bad, but I think everybody will experience different amounts of swelling. It also did not hurt that I was taking prescription...

Well I finally got some relief and some answers. I started taking Sudafed PE on Sunday that was a big help, but the problem was after 4 hours it was time to take more. So after waking up in the middle of the night I decided I had to find a 12 hour medicine. Fortunately Target had a 12 hour Sudafed b...

I am 11 days out of upper jaw/genioplasty and I am still having some difficulty. When my sinuses are clear I am 75% clear but I overdid and had my jaw spasming. I have 2 small children and it is extremely frustrating because I have to hold them in front of my face so they can watch me as I try to fo...

Just got off the phone with the dr. and he said I have to find a decongestant that works. If I am not better in the next 24 hours then I need to come in tomorrow to be examined for possible prescription strength meds to help relieve this pressure. Also he said definitely no straws until they say it ...

10 Day Post- op Newbie with questions, Please help

I had a leforte plus genioplasty done on April 26. The biggest complaint I had related to my sinuses, but about 4 days ago they finally cleared. However, Friday night they ballooned right back and they are making life miserable. I am finding it diffucult to eat, speak, drink and SLEEP. Did this happ...
