My teeth are like this too, I got lowers on yesterday. My front teeth hit my brackets in the front, and I can't bite down at all in the back. The ortho said that I'll be less likely to bite them off as they bond to my teeth a little bit more. Man, bottoms hurt way worse than tops did. . .

People with ceramics and white power chains, please help!

I went through a ton of topics, but I can't find pictures of what I'm looking for. I have ceramic uppers and have an appt. this afternoon, where I'm guessing I'll get more powerchains, but I really don't like the clear color they gave me because of the staining. If ANYONE can find me a picture of ce...

I was like this too. I know it feels super-disgusting to have crap stuck in your archwires and brackets, or feeling like theres something there. Mine went away after a couple of weeks. I think having ceramic brackets made it a little worse too, because I DID NOT want to be the one with the yellow br...

Powerchains- staining & how long will I need them?

I got powerchains at my first appointment since getting my braces on. They were far more painful then when I first got my braces, but they closed the three gaps in my four front teeth I'd had since my adult teeth came in. I mean, I REALLY like smiling now without that gap. I was pretty self-consciou...

14, Upper Midwest (USA), First time braced this year estimated 18-21 months. My great grandfather and grandfather were both dentists and two of my uncles are. So the only reason I really got braces was so I wouldn't be the black sheep of the family, being the only one without straight teeth. Plus I ...

My total treatment, which includes braces (upper+lower), appointments, any bands, retainers, and and appointments after I'm debraced cost $5400. Insurance covered $1000 of that.

It took about an hour to wait and go over my treatment plan and get my teeth cleaned and wait some more, and then it took about 5-10 minutes (no joke) to get the braces (tops only) and archwires on. Don't know whats all about this two hours stuff. I had no pain whatsoever and ate a sandwich; by the ...

They didn't even give me any flavor options. It was so warm and gross it was like someone force-feeding you silly putty. Plus the assistant who was doing it had bad breath. :yuck:

Teeth Brushing OCD

Well, braces for six days now (a week tomorrow!). And I think I officially have a tooth brushing problem. I woke up at 5a.m. and had probably brushed 3-4 times before 8a.m.. I also brushed three times after that, and right now I have a strooong urge to get my toothbrush. Anyone else getting this? :-}

I have buccal brackets (I think. . .They look like medieval torture devices) in the back (first six in front are ceramic); and I don't have bands or spacers.

Gums being forced into unnatural places

Well, I woke up this morning, and realized that to the right of my right front tooth, the gum area behind it is protruding. I'm guessing it's from the pressure, because I've been brushing, flossing, and rinsing 3-5 times a day. And now it is starting to sting/itch (kind of like when you're coming of...

Heh. I got my braces two days ago and I've already eaten several no-no foods. I ate chips last night AND today, and I sucked on a starburst the day that I actually got braced.

For those of you with nice skin who dont' know what isotretinoin (Accutane or Roaccutane or Accutane Roche) is, I will explain it. It is the strongest acne drug available and is derived from Vitamin A. There is also a topical version of it, tretinoin (Retin-A, Retin-A Micro, Renova, Avita). It signi...
