Well, I get my braces in an hour and a half. I know there are a few others today as well so good luck to all! I'll try and post some pics later today. I'm so nervous...I can't believe I'm going through with this!!!

I like the magenta!! How do you eat with it out? My uppers completely cover my lowers when I bite down, so I can't imagine I'll be able to eat without it. In fact, eating and sleeping are the only times I think I'll really need to wear it. It's funny how you really observe the way you use your mouth...

I keep seeing advice on taking salt water rinses both before and after getting braces. What is the purpose of the rinses? I can see rinsing after braces to get food particles out, but why rinse before?

I just wanted to let you know I thought of your tip about having fun with the bite plate at my records appointment today and went with a clear with multi-color polka dots. If you hadn't said to have fun, I would have gotten clear. I actually think it's gonna look kind of fun!

Thanks guys. I was definitely feeling much more positive today after the appointment. Braces go on June 7th! I don't know that I'm excited to get them, but I'm very excited for the final results!

iborg - I know my bite plate will be removable, so that's a done deal. Since I talk a lot at work she decided to go removable.

misssmiley - thanks for the kind words. I'm sure it's more scary in my head that it will be once it's done. The anticipation of all this is really the worst part!
