I had mine out last April. I drank Ensure in place of meals for the first two days or so. This way I didn't have to chew anything. Also, be careful to follow all the instructions they give you. It helps to have someone to take care of you and be sure that the instructions are followed. Give yourself...

Thank you Meryaten, for sharing. Yes I wanted to be sure I posted the cause of the chip to hopefully prevent others from making the same misassumption about the bumpers (as my ortho calls them). It never even occured to me that I could chip a tooth on my brackets. My ortho never said that the bumper...

Thank you = )
Thank you Karen and Lisa for your responses. I have been examining my bite and I can see that the little corner that chipped off is exactly in line with one of my lower brackets. I think this is what did the deed. I had a completely closed bite, so they didnt' even put my brackets on the lowers for ...

Powerchain chipped my tooth?
I have had a powerchain for the past month. I just noticed that I now have a chip on the corner of one of the two front top teeth. I am so devastated! Is it possible that the powerchain is pulling my teeth together too strongly and that this might be causing my tooth to chip? I haven't banged my fac...

You know, I felt like they moved by two or three weeks. At my first adjustment in July they had to yank one of my brackets off because it wasn't placed correctly and made one of my front teeth all crooked and I had a big gap. So they moved the wrong way pretty quickly for that first two months, then...

Thanks Dimples! I noticed that your lowers just went on not too long ago. What major differences did you notice compared to having just the uppers? I am nervous about the real drama of braces kicking in at that time because to tell you the truth..I really love these things! I am afraid that maybe I ...

Lowers on next Wednesday...
I said in my earlier post that I get my lowers in a few weeks. I just checked my calendar and I get them on next Wednesday! Wow! I wonder what they will say about my alignment so far. I would think they would have said it is going fast. But alas, my ortho and the tech who changed my wires never say ...

Thanks!
Thanks for the comments. I just had to post because I can't believe how much they have moved. I just started to notice that my teeth are looking really straight and feeling very lined up. I noticed that my teeth look more yellow in the after pictures...I think this is because of the different lighti...

I can't believe how much my teeth have moved since May 2. I just took these pictures this morning (August 19). I can't believe how much my teeth have moved in such a short amount of time! I love the way my straight teeth feel. I get my lowers on in just a few weeks. = ) Before: http://i13.tinypic.co...

DirtyMartini, Thank you, that is a really good idea. I actually have some for my kids. I will try that and see if it helps. I really think that it is as he said, the saliva. I think that by drinking more water I can hopefully dilute the problem. Lisa65, I have been seriously thinking I need to get a...

Meryaten, I looked up the Pro-Health and I will be picking some up tomorrow to use in the morning. So...I shouldn't use it after brushing each time? rsprouse, thank you for your advice, I think I just missed your post while I was trying to keep up and respond. I can say that I am very glad that I we...

GinaLime, I am not sure what the heck it is. I know that for the past ten weeks Calculus has been the bane of my existence! I have been TAKING the class Calculus and having my Oral Hygenist scraping Calculus (that is what she calls it!) off of my teeth! From my understanding, calculus is one step up...

Calculus Buildup--any advice?
Hi everyone, I had my uppers put on about two weeks ago. Just prior to this, I had root scaling to remove any calculus below the gumline. I was assured that most people never have to do this again. I just went in to see my dentist on Tuesday and he had to scrape calculus deposits from around my fron...
