Went to ortho with poking wire that was causing huge canker sore.Assistant put a little ball of cement on the end of wire yesterday and it fell off today.I told her it probably wont stay because they did the same thing about a month ago with top wire and it fell off also.Now i am back to using wax.I...

I went to the orhto today with that poking wire. all they could do was put a little ball of cement on the end of it.It hepled alittle but it still irratates it a bit.My mouth will never toughen up.I use salt water constantly.

What are the small hooks for on the brackets? I can understand the ones on the molars because maybe i will be getting elastics,but i have hooks on most of my brackets.

If this canker sore ever heals,wont it come back because of the bracket constantly rubbing against it or will my mouth toughen up by then? My lower lip is itchy and burning at the same time also??

i have the tube of brace relief also.That just burns be so bad then it numbs it but not for long.Does that actually help heal it?

How will this ever heal if the bracket and end wire keep poking it? Will my mouth ever get tough enough to stand this? The sore looks like the middle of it the skin is missing.I dont know how to better describe it.Sorry.Also the wire isnt long enough to clip any.It ends in a bad spot . the left side...

I posted before about a canker sore.I got braces on bottom on may 29.I have a big canker sore near where molar is rubbing.I used wax but its a pain.It just falls off.It seems like canker sore heals then when wax falls off terrible pain and then the sore looks bad again.I rinse with salt water consta...

thank you meryaten.No the wire isnt poking me.I looked.It is short.Just a nasty big sore on that side.I will try less salt.I hope my inside of my mouth will soon toughen up so i can stand this.Thanks again.

When i rinse with warm salt water,it burns like he!!.Am i using too much salt? I wish they would go away but i dont think so because the archwire ends a little shorter on the right side because of a tooth missing so it is in a bad spot.

I like not having to go more often than every 16 weeks.

my adjustments are every 16 weeks.Maybe because i am wearing the speed system brackets and they dont require frequent adjustments.

just got bottom brackets on and my mouth is all cut up.Very sore.The brackets dont bother me, but them rubbing against inside does.Wikll warm salt rinses help heal and make my mouth tougher to stand them rubbing?

Thanks jennielee.When did you get the elastics? how long into treatment? I am being treated for severe overjet.Ortho said i will be getting them but i forgot to ask when.

Does anyone have speed braces? and how did the first adjustment feel?
