Before I got braces (2nd time), I wasn't insecure because of my teeth and crookedness. However, having straight teeth WITH braces now I'd say I'm more confident. On the other hand, having braces now lowers my confidence when meeting new people, but I think I'm usually over-exaggerating. Either way, ...

I've had braces for about 14 months now, and got rubber bands about 2 months ago. Today I asked them how often I should change and they made it sound like every time I take them out I should use new bands, which is what I have been doing. They stressed not to keep them in very long, since the elasti...

Yep, I got over my fear of braces almost immediately after getting them on. As a college student I think it's probably the hardest time to get braces, but it's not like I've lost friends or can't make new ones. The opposite actually :) The other day my professor was sitting right next to me, like in...

Progress is going slowly now. It is now 1 year since I've had braces (July 06) and my teeth are nice and straight but they have been trying to rotate a molar for several months now, it is just taking a long time. After that I think it's closing gaps that they created with my retainer (which is helpi...

Looking forward to... Since Before Braces: - Biting into sandwiches/hamburgers with lettuce. My teeth do not meet when I bite down, so this has always been frustrating. Braces alone has helped this a lot, but jaw surgery will make it *perfect* - Improved profile after surgery Since After Braces: - M...

I still have a ways to go with braces, but I will probably miss them, a little :) They are always friendly, and one of the guys and I always talk about random things. But I won't miss braces and the associated annoyances!

I would suggest start washing your face with cleansing products made for acne. I have been washing with Oxy Daily Wash Maximum for several months now, and then applying moisturizer to my face lightly after showering. That alone has reduced breakouts significantly ! And I'm in my early 20s so I'm muc...

Well, as time goes on pain will be virtually unnoticeable, but in the beginning, I think you will experience it because your teeth are getting used to the new metal in your mouth. Especially after your first few adjustments.

I remember it took me a while to bit into thin slices of cold cheese.
