Hey my ortho did the same. I got my quad helix and both top and bottom all metal brackets on the same day. It was a bit overwhelming at first but by the end of the week I was ok. It takes some getting used to like anything else but it is totally worth it. I only had to wear my expander for 3 months ...

well right now I'm still s p a c e d o u t but my ortho assured me the triangle between my upper centrals will completely close. The lowers are going to be diminished but might not completey close. Im in powerchains so hopefully by next month I'll be able to see the results.

ok... little bit about me... I had a quad helix for 3 months... teeth were pretty much aligned and he did the IPR to reduce my black triangles. Thank you all for the responses. I am 6 months into my treatment and today the ortho did some IPR between my top centrals and on both side of my lower centrals. My question is during which part of the treatment is it "normal" to get IPR. I asked my ortho about this in the 2nd month and he said it would be towards the end ...

I got my braces on bout 2 months ago... the first thing I did when my BF got home from work was go to see how it felt. He was surprised when he realized he didnt feel any different. To be quite honest it wasnt all that different. You'll be fine!

Hey Peach, I have a quad helix expander basically has no key... it took a few days to get used to. I had a hard time eating cause food got stuck in it and my tongue didnt know where to go hah! anyway takes a few days you should be fine as far as how it feels... I dunno bout the pressure an stuff cau...

I noticed no one mentioned peroxide rinses... I have always been very prone to getting sores in my mouth... any sort of irritation caused a sore... rinse with peroxide out of the bottle a few times a day and it helps heal it real quick.
