My problem was too much spacing. Now I'm 8 months in and powerchained galore, my smile is looking a lot better already.

Of course, if you can't be bothered even to read the thread, that just demonstrates that what you have is an uninformed opinion. No, it doesn't. I read the opening post and opined on that. This is not a debate about science or whether or not the sky is blue (things that aren't particularly subjecti...

I've never seen anybody in the professional world (or any rich people for that matter) with missing or severely jacked up teeth did anyone bother to tell this chap that with teeth like his, he'd never have the self-confidence to go far? http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y219/Meryaten/Miscellaneous%2...

I have ceramics on my bottom teeth. But I wouldn't worry about it if I were you b/c it's unlikely that anybody can see your bottoms anyway.

You guys are taking this thread way too seriously. Nobody is trying to "prove" anything. It's simply a matter of opinion, it's not that deep. I don't live or do business in Fiji nor Zimbabwe so of course I wouldn't be able to speak about what they do there. NOBODY said that it's IMPOSSIBLE...

I actually had one loosen -- upper first molar just last week. I made an appt with my ortho and the asst popped it right off, popped in 2 spacers, and I have to go back in two weeks to get a band put on that tooth. It prolly happened b/c my bite changed such that the bracket was getting hit by a low...

I can relate to the OP. Before getting braces I was really self-conscious about my smile. I have been teased about my teeth, and have overheard guys say that I had "f&cked up teeth." We all know people are judged by their appearance, initially. I've never seen anybody in the profession...

When I first got braced biting into a sandwich or burrito was very uncomfy so I avoided those foods or ordered "naked" burritos when I had a craving. After the first few weeks the discomfort eased up and I have no probs now -- except when I get an adjustment. I don't eat sandwiches and suc...

Update: As it turns out, that issue with my gums was due to an abscess. I chipped my front tooth as a child and have had a series of crowns covering it since I was about 9. I had a root canal done on this tooth as a teen about ten years ago and now there's a new abscess. So, I'm going to have to ha...

For some reason, I'm not sure if the crowns I had prior to the one I have now were porcelain...they were "temporary" as I understood it. Both the ortho & dentist have recommended getting a new crown at the end of ortho treatment. The newer crowns look better than the one I have so I'm ...

Well, my gums are still giving me trouble. It looks like there is some sort of cyst above my crown rather than swelling. If I squeeze it white fluid oozes out (ew). It isn't painful but I'm going to call both my ortho & dentist tomorrow.
