I'm having this dry mouth problem too... I've had my braces on for about a week and a half. I will take the "stay hydrated" advice that others have provided and see what happens. I keep lip balm handy, too, and that helps. For mouth irritation, the salt water rinses do help also as everyon...

I did it!

Well, I got my braces yesterday (cermic top, metal bottom). I colored my hair, got it cut, painted my toe nails and took the plunge! I can't believe I actually followed through... I even had an escape route planned :D! The people in the ortho office were FABULOUS as was my doctor... all very gentle ...

how will I look in braces?

I haven't yet gotten braces and am worried (of course) how I will look in them... I'm supposed to get Ceramic top and metal bottom. Don't know what type of Ceramic though -- are there some brands that are smaller? It seems like people are saying that ceramic have a bigger 3-D profile than metal... D...
