Thanks everyone, for replying! My hubby was able to fix it without too much difficulty. Here's a pic: http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s203/jzbragg/prebraces2.jpg The arch wire comes out of the back molar, which on the pic is on the left side. If you look carefully, you can see that the last molar...

Lisa-thanks for the response.... I hate to say it but I'm so ready to whack myself over the head! That SOOO explains why that wire always "drifts" out. No, there's not space between that molar and the molar in front of it, but there is a significant about of space between the two brackets....

grrrrr... frustrating!!!

Okay, does anyone else have issues with their arch wire always popping out of the same bracket? My arch wire comes out of the bracket on the very back molar on my right lower side... grrrr. And for some reason it always happens on a weekend! I guess I should be greatful its not the bracket that come...

skintz-I think it has something to do with being fairly new to braces... I too am guilty of messing with my wobblers! As far as it being a bad thing, I hope someone else more experienced can tell us because I don't know the answer to that.

My ortho gave me a tube of Colgate Phos-Flur Gel and told me to use it right before bed after brushing and not to drink anything afterwards. They give a large tube to all their patients and its supposed to help prevent cavities. You're supposed to use such a small amt. each night that the tube shoul...

Meryaten, Whitters, and KK: it's wonderful to see the changes... at first I was checking out my teeth EVERYDAY for about a week, and it suddenly dawned on me, if I just take a detailed look every now and then, the delayed gratification will be better! :P Anyhow, I was surprised to see changes so fas...

new pics and 1 month update...

Hi everyone, it's been about a month, and though my pics are of poor quality, I still wanted to update. There is no more discomfort, except for the occasional, "oooo, I should not have bit down so hard on that!" Occasionally I'm a little unnerved when I can feel that my teeth are a little ...

Lisa-I tend to agree with you, though, if it's possible, my molars do line up like a class I but my front teeth stick out like the Class II pic... But I guess that would be called and overjet...? But aren't malocclusions determined by molar placement? LOL I guess there's no sense in trying to figure...

Lea and Alexa-thanks for your replies! Yes, I really like my ortho and he is well known in my community for doing good work. But, being a nurse, I know what it's like behind the scenes at a doctors office... but I suppose I should just get over that, huh? Anyhow, I'm very comfortable with the decisi...

I got my uppers and lowers at the same time, just a little over a week ago... I'm sure it's different for every person but my lowers actually bothered me less than my uppers. The tingling or sensitivity has lasted longer in my uppers. I'm sure you'll do fine after getting your lowers, good luck!

New-I think it's very cool that you and your son are wearing braces together! How long will you both be wearing them?

1 month pics! woohoo!

Hi everyone. My name is Jen and I got my braces on 6/4... so far all is going well. Of course I had considerable sensitivity for the first 3 days, but since this past weekend, everything is back to normal as far as eating goes :D I found this site while searching for info about braces and how they w...
