Before getting braced I had been going every 4 months due to some gum issues; my gums are now healthy, but my hygienist recommended I stay on the four month cycle until my braces come off. I also have this problem, on the two teeth that don't have brackets. I have springs in my archwire over those two teeth, and I thought it might have something to do with the spring.

I asked my ortho at my first adjustment about getting smoke colored ligs since my clears stained so quickly; they ended up giving me white wire ligs that don't stain at all! I love them!

I personally have a REALLY hard time with the stiff ended floss (superfloss, I think it's called?) and have found it much easier to use regular floss + floss threaders instead.

My son & I just got braces together last month, and his x-rays show that his top two wisdom teeth are "congenitally absent". None of my wisdom teeth ever erupted, the ortho surgeon just went in, cut the gums & pulled them when I was in my mid-20's.
