Hi Maggie, I'm a newbie too! I got my top braces on Wednesday (6-20). When Karen told me about the chewing to get the blood flowing and the healing started, I thought she was crazy! Chew when it already hurts?! It totally worked!!! WOW! The first few times it is a little painful, but it gets better....
