Absolutely. I'm glad that i had someone I was very comfortable with. I like to ask questions as I know that being uninformed about things and making 'guesses' can drive you insane when you have no idea of the facts!

Dont worry! The permanent retainer makes no difference to the removable retainer- slides on with ease. I have both and theres no problems.
The permanent retainer is a thin piece of wire- so thin it causes no disturbance.

I have an upper bonded retainer- due to a gap in between my front teeth pre-braces. But the wire is across 4 teeth- two front ones, and the laterals beside them.

The orthodontist said- 'this will ensure the teeth dont move anywhere' and that was very comforting!

Straight after the braces were off, I had the impressions done and I returned to the office an hour later to pick them up (and got instructions, etc) I'm glad i didnt have to wait any amount of days, i'm the paranoid type.
