Thank you all so very much for your replies to this! When I first got my braces last week, the tech ask the doc if he wanted a 15 or 16. He told her, "Let's go with a 14". So, ever since then I was wondering what this meant. I wasn't sure if it was the strength, wire size, or size of the a...

Arch Wire Sizes?

Could someone please explain to me the difference between a 14, 15, and 16 arch wire? I heard the orthodontal tech asking the doctor which number right before getting my arch wire. I was just curious...

Yes, do have that cavity filled immediately before you get your braces on. If the filling needs to be on the side of the tooth, it will most definitely need to be in place before the bracket is glued on. You may be getting just your top braces first, and if the cavity is on the bottom, you may have ...

I'm glad that you're getting a consult with another orthodontist now. Hopefully they'll put your mind to ease. You'll definitely like knowing (I know I would) for sure whether the other doc did a good or bad job. I did have really rough surfaces on my front two teeth right after he bonded the bracke...

Thanks for the reply Meryaten. Just trying to understand what everyone else is going through with them. Overall though, I'm guessing that the differences between the smallest, lowest profile brackets and the biggest, most obtrusive ones are probably pretty minute. I mean, generally speaking, bracket...

Acehigh, I know exactly what you mean about looking at the archwire and seeing just how crooked your teeth really are. lol I always thought my teeth were fairly straight too...but once my braces were on and I saw how crooked that wire was...wow. I was SO happy that I'd made the decision to get them!...

So what specifically do you notice between the two brackets that you have? So are the uppers bigger around, yet flatter? How would you describe the comfort level between the two and did you eventually get used to the Innovation C?

Re:

Hi. I just had my top braces put on last Wednesday. They are the Inovation C. Is that what you have? They are the self-ligating brackets, in the ceramic. When I first got them they felt totally huge...totally. However, I've had little to no pain or sore teeth. It's still been less than a week and I'...

InOvation C Brackets Just Installed

Hi. I just got the new InOvation C brackets last Wednesday! I was very happy when I learned that the self-ligating brackets were available in clear ceramic. I love them! I actually found out about them online and asked my orthodontist about them. He read up on them and ordered them especially for me...
