I think you should get your bracket taken care of as soon as you can, but I don't think it's any sort of emergency. Maybe you could reschedule your Dec 3rd appointment for this week, if there is an opening in their schedule. About your crown: I have 2 porcelain molar crowns - one uppper and one low...

I wouldn't worry. My Ortho never took molds of my teeth either until the very end of my treatment (when they were needed to make the retainers). My ortho would refer to my photos and x-rays during our visits. I think that molds probably aren't necessary in all cases - even if you think your case is...

Braces Back On?
Just wondering if anyone had their Ortho re-brace them after getting debanded? I've had my braces off for a week now and there are some spaces I know CAN be closed but I was going to go for a cosmetic restoration. After further consultation w/dentist, I have decided I do not want to pursue that rou...

Here's what happened for me: At my 2nd to last adjustment/appointment, they took impressions of my teeth with the braces still on (yes, there was icky pink stuff stuck in every nook and cranny of my braces!). After that, I had my potential debanding date set for 5 or 6 weeks later. When I showed up...

Depending on your starting conditions, I think it is definitely possible to see some tooth movement so soon. I noticed stuff happening within a few weeks of getting braced too...your teeth pretty much don't have a choice but to move with all that pressure! Take it as a good sign :D Unfortunately th...

My debanding date has been scheduled for November 4th, and I think what I'll do is just eat a really big sandwich or burger and enjoy NOT worrying about the horror show stuck in my brackets for the world to see. It'll be nice to go through an entire meal without picking my teeth in public :-#) The ...

One month to go and....will I be happy with the results?
I just had my last adjustment the other day, and I have a debanding date set for November 4th - yahoo!!! However, in my mind there still seems to be a bit of progress to make and I am wondering if I'll be happy with how my teeth look on that day. I started with a pretty big overjet and overbite, an...

Don't you all know that popcorn is a big NO-NO for braces?? Stop now before you pop a bracket! Actually, popcorn is about the only thing I've avoided while in braces :-#) I just wanted to chime in with my 2 cents on this topic: I just watched the 60 minutes segment on YouTube and think shows like t...

Veneers?
I had my 2nd-to-last adjustment today (yay! ) and my ortho told me that my top inscisors are "very small" in proportion to my other teeth (not the 2 front ones, but the ones next to the canines). He recommends I get my dentist to put veneers on them after the braces come off. I d...

I had 2 brackets repositioned once, and all the Ortho did was take this little device that looked like little pliers, and kind of pinched the brackets off. They just popped off. Then as Lisa65 said, the worst was getting the glue sanded off. Oooh, and then getting the teeth re-etched.:yuck: Yucky t...

I remember thinking (before I got my braces) that they might help facilitate losing a bit of weight by limiting my food intake, until I got them and realized that the easiest things to eat were not too healthy (i.e. milkshakes, cake, etc.). I also remember day 1 I tried to eat Tater Tots, but my te...

Welcome Bracedin08! I think most of us in here can relate with the waiting and watching all your friends get braces and pretty smiles. I have had my braces since July '07, so still in the middle of things. If you've been lurking a while then you probably already know that this board is a great sour...
