My dentist recommended Sensodyne last year because my teeth were very sensitive to cleanings. It worked with me. My last two dental visits were much more comfortable. My teeth really hurt right now from getting braced..I doubt the Sensodyne will help much because that has to do with the roots..but I...

I've had my braces for two days and I'm having the same problem with flossing my upper teeth. The lower ones I can get fine. I'm using the stiff-ended floss my ortho gave me..but I just can't get it around some of my top teeth yet....but I'm still practicing and rinsing twice with mouthwash in the m...

Well, I'm officially braced. I went in Monday morning at 9 a.m. It was all over in an hour. First, they put the brackets on..I really tried hard not to get my tongue close to the glue..but I could still taste a little bit of it..yuck. Then they put the rest of the stuff on and the wire...the actual ...

Hi everyone...it's nice to have so much support from this site. I tried the laying on the back trick and I guess it did work :) I am trying to keep as much saliva out of my mouth as possible...and that's helping. I've done the salt water rinses a couple times so far..will probably do more often once...

Thanks...I just tried the salt water rinse. I am having trouble getting wax to stick to my bands...I keep putting it on there and I guess I have too much saliva from the bite plate to get it to stick...because it doesn't stay on at all...so I've already developed some raw places on my cheek...ouch. ...

Your ortho should be able to tell if that would cause a problem. I have a severe overbite and was fitted for a bite plate on Monday and am scheduled to get my braces this coming Monday. My ortho said that if I don't have the bite plate for a few months, the braces would get knocked off (but I don't ...

I've had three wisdom teeth removed by my dentist (they had erupted) and one by oral surgeon. The last one was by the oral surgeon. I chose the cheaper method of being awake but getting an anestetic because it was $200 cheaper and I was only getting one removed. The actual surgery was pain-free...th...

Braces at 25
I just celebrated my 25th birthday and am starting the braces journey. In the last couple months, I have had three wisdom teeth removed (two at the dentist and one at the oral surgeon). Last Monday, the 23rd, I had spacers put in and they were (thankfully) removed today. I was fitted for my bands an...

Spacers came out this morning (I was so happy). I got the bands put on (only slightly painful because one side is still tender from having a wisdom tooth cut out) and got my bite plate which I will have to wear for the next few months. Braces go on next Monday. The pain with the spacers lessened sli...

I am a newbie with spacers too...got them this past Monday (July 23---my birthday haha) They began hurting more the next day and I have been taking Aleve since then which has helped. I have to wear them until Monday when I begin getting the bands put on and and get my bite plate. I was told this was...
