How long was/is your palate expander in?
I see some people on this message board have their palate expander in for 6-9 months. My ortho is telling me I will have mine out in 2 months. Does this seem strange? I'm guessing he will put a bar in place of the palate expander, that will keep it opened. Has anyone ever heard of getting their remo...

What is this pulling feeling?
Hey everyone, I know this has probably been posted 1000x's , but I need to ask a few questions and hopefully get some solid answers back. I am 16 days post op from SARPE surgery. My oral surgeon says I'm healing perfectly and my bite looks good. I am not turning anymore and have about a 4-5 mm space...

How long did it take you.....
Till your space started closing after your SARPE surgery? I'm almost 2 weeks post OP and haven't been turning for about 5 days now. Does this space close very quickly, or does it take a month?
Anyone who has answers, its greatly appreciated!!

Done turning the torture device after one week post OP
I had my appointments with both my OS and Ortho and they both said I am done turning. Which is great news! Now hopefully this gap will start closing soon. Any idea on how long it usually takes to start noticing it closing. Also I've read on here that some people have there expander in for about 5-6 ...

I found out why I have a sore throat
Well my upper palate has been hurting me since the second day of post op, but now it really has been bothering me lately. It feels as if I have a sore throat. I just discovered last night that my uvula (that hangy thing at the back of the throat) has been pressing against my tongue. Making it really...

Issues with my Palate Expander today
It's been one week since my SARPE surgery and everything seemed to be going very smoothly. I haven't been feeling any pain and within one week of turning the key I am done expanding. I had two appointments today, one with my oral surgeon and the other with my orthodontist. Both very pleased with my ...

1st day post op
I had the SARPE surgery yesterday. I must day I'm not in too much pain at all, but my right ride of my face is extremely swollen. My surgeon said he cranked my palate expander around 10 times so I have a nice gap going. Anyone have this problem though? When I swallow (water, liquard foods) it feels ...

Oral Surgeon told me this, ortho told me that
Well I went to my oral surgeon and he told me that I can expect to have the palate expander in for 5-6 months. I recently had it put it in and my ortho told me he is going to try and speed up the process, and it out in 8-12 weeks (I guess depending on how fast I heal). My orthro told me when it come...

Palate Expander in..ugh
Yesterday I got my palate expander cemented in, in preparation for my SARPE surgery on the 13th. I really dislike this thing with a passion and already can't wait to get it out. Eating for the first time was a complete nightmare and food constantly gets caught on the top of this thing. Also the sali...
