Hey there and welcome to the board! :-1 I'm the same age as you and I work in public relations so I totally get where you're coming from. Plus , I have the lovely shiny metal braces on both my top and bottom teeth! ;) I was a bit self-conscious at first, especially when meeting new clients or client...

Hey Beana- this is the first time that I've managed to have a look at your blog and it was a great read! We're similar ages (I'm 24) and my teeth aren't too different to yours either. My top teeth don't look that bad- it's my bottom ones that are all crowded and wonky! You look like you're making gr...

I don't want to hear this -- my first adjustment is coming up. Guess I'll just have to try and grin and be Mr. Cool I honestly don't think that this is the adjustment experience for everyone! I do not remember adjustments hurting like that when I was a teenage brace wearer and other posters, like K...

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! I was sitting in front of the TV this evening, quietly minding my own business, when I heard a little ping and got a really weird feeling in my mouth. I looked in the mirror and saw that the bracket on one of my front teeth has come off. Wonder if it has anythin...

So, I went to get my poky archwire trimmed today (as suggested by KK!). Also, the end of my bottom archwire had popped out of its bracket and was flailing around so I needed to get that seen to as well. I expected to be in and out in about five minutes......but no. Things never happen as you expect ...

I haven't posted on here recently as I was going to wait until my first adjustment before I let people know about my progress. However, work is a bit slow so I will fill you in a little bit on how I have found my first two weeks in brace-land! Well, things are going really well. My teeth aren't achi...

Hey there :) Welcome to the messageboard. I've had my braces on for about two weeks too! My teeth were a bit tender when eating/brushing in the first few days but now I don't feel anything. Sometimes I forget I even have them! I know what you mean about worrying that no pain= no movement. I don't wa...

Welcome to the forum! :-1 You'll really enjoy posting here- you get a lot of advice and encouragement from fellow bracies and it's a great feeling to know that you're not the only adult in the world to be getting orthodontic treatment. Good luck with starting your treatment- I look forward to seeing...

Wow- that sounds like a bit of a worry for you. I hope that it doesn't set you back too much and it all gets sorted out. I had to have a dodgy shadow looked into before I got started on my orthodontic work. It was just over my capped front tooth. Apparently, when the cap went on when I was ten years...

Hi there and welcome to the board! :) I have to agree with the others- your teeth already look good so it's a surprise that they will take three years to be perfect. Ah well, guess the ortho must know what he's doing! You're a very attractive woman- you will look absolutely stunning when you have a ...

Hey jtlang- thanks for checking up on me! :D I've been doing ok. My teeth are still pretty tender so I'm not back to eating normally yet. However, I am trying to chew things as much as my pain threshold allows as I read on here that it's good for your gums etc I've been using quite a lot of wax (wil...
