I was meant to get 6 implants, but when I had a few of the baby teeth surgically removed, they removed a little too much bone with a couple of them..ill have to settle for 2 bridges instead. Currently, 2 of the baby teeth still remain, so as to maintain the bone. Ive decided to get them both crowned...

My fake-teeth fill the whole gap down to the gum, they look just like the normal teeth - ill get pics up later on. All i need to do now is work out how to eat properly wearing...

(Hopefully) brace removed tomorrow, retainer w. 'fake teeth'

Hello, All being well, my braces should be removed tomorrow. I have two appointments booked with a small break between, the first for the brace removal, and the second for the fitting of the retainer. My question is relating to some gaps that I have. In the near future, I will be getting implants/br...

Somethings come off..help please!!

Hello. Well im a few days before my uni exams, and so REALLY didnt need need this to happen! Im not sure what its called, but a short elastic-band type thingy has come off. It ran parallel and just above the wire, and covered the space between a gap. Whats this thing called? How urgent is it that I ...

Appt Cancellation

Grrr... its been about 2 months since my last appt.

Got a practical at uni next week so had to rearrange my next appt - from Feb 7th to March 28th :o

Is this likely to affect my progress? All thats happening now really is gaps being closed at the top with a powerchain.

I had this, and recently had it taken off.

When I did, it was the weirdest feeling ever. I just couldn't close my mouth. I couldn't work out where to put my jaw, it was all over the place for a couple of days.

Strange.

When a woman is pregnant, the lil baby takes an amount of calcium it needs from the teeth and bones of its mum - I'd guess that may weaken the teeth (or reduce their size v.slightly), making them easier to move. The differing hormone levels won't make the teeth easier to move directly, but will affe...

What can be done with a gap?

When deciding upon my treatment, I could have gone in 2 ways... either getting headgear and having about a 3year treatment, or a 2yr treatment, no headgear, but being left with a smallish gap on one side. I opted for the latter. Is there any way this gap can be "filled in"? It will be abou...

I've had 2 break on the same day before.

I went and got the first one sorted, then another broke a few hours after, grr..

Thankfully they were the only ones that I've broken, the ortho blamed a dodgy batch - could be a good excuse for other people to try!

Hello, Thanks for the reply. I'm glad to hear that im not really that much of a rarity :) I am missing 4 teeth in all - 2 at the top, and 2 at the bottom. Do you know, from what you were told, if there is any possibility of getting a bridge before the full brace/retainer treatment is complete? A cou...

New here - story so far

Hey, Ive been reading stuff here for a while, thought I'd share my story (so far!). Well, I've just turned 19, and have had my brace for just over a year. I expected to have it for a while, since from a young age, I knew that some of my milk teeth didn't have big teeth forming below them, and so as ...
